Attack of the Day of the Blahs

Not sure what the deal is, but I was not able to wake up properly this morning despite sleeping for eight hours.  Most likely, I am dealing with the remnants of the cold that I had last week still clogging my head and making me lethargic and out of sorts.  Let's see how the goop in my head likes the Claritin I just took followed by a nice wash from the neti pot.  Gross?  Yup, but whatchagonnado.

Let's see...time to reassess where I am at and where I want to be with writing.  Currently, the plan is to have at least query letters out before the end of the year for both my dark science fantasy novel and for an unrelated film screenplay that I will begin storyboarding in the next two weeks.  There is also the matter of the Tulip blog / online kid's storybook that I want to get rolling on and produce about a page every two weeks, but that is looking to be an end of summer deal.

I expect things to be pretty busy for the rest of the year, and my goals are somewhat lofty, but entirely doable even with having a life and a jobby-job.  The third draft is approaching completion, and the fourth draft should be the "cutting room floor" version, where I cut, cut, cut.  I foresee it as being painful, but not nearly as time consuming as the third draft was to complete.  There will need to be some additional fine tuning of the first chapter, but that should not be too difficult comparative to what I have already done.  I also have the online comic book script writing class beginning in August, which I am excited about as well.

For 2011, I will start the follow up book, continue the Tulip project and within the first quarter start the second screenplay of the five or six that I currently want to write.  Within all of that, there will possibly be a comic script or two, depending on how things go with the comic book script writing class this summer.  Busy, busy, busy, but fun and fulfilling.
